Renewing, changing or cancelling your Blue Badge

My Blue Badge is due to expire when do I need to re-apply?

Applications can take up to 12 weeks to process so we recommend you apply to renew at least 10 weeks before your Blue Badge expires.

My badge has expired, and I haven't got my new one yet, what should I do?

If you have re-applied and it has been more than 6 weeks since you applied, please contact us at blue.badge@essex.gov.uk with your expired badge number, your full name and address.

I'm changing address, what should I do with my Blue Badge?

How do I extend my badge?

A Blue Badge cannot be extended.

If your badge is due to expire you will need to renew your Blue Badge.
