Applying for a Blue Badge

How much does a Blue Badge cost?

A Blue Badge costs £10 in England.

How do I apply for a Blue Badge?

You can apply for a Blue Badge by visiting Apply for a Blue Badge and completing the online application.

Can I apply for a Blue Badge on behalf of someone else?

Yes. When applying you should answer the questions on the applicant’s behalf, and you must provide your contact details where requested. We will require authority from the applicant for you to act on their behalf, so please ensure their contact information is correct.

How long will my application take?

Applications can take up to 12 weeks to complete.

If you hold an existing Blue Badge which is due to expire you will need to reapply for a new badge. We recommend you apply at least 10 weeks before the expiry date.

What supporting evidence do I need to provide with my application?

The supporting documents required to confirm your eligibility will vary depending on the criteria of the application being submitted. Read more about supporting documents.

How do I pay for a Blue Badge?

If your Blue Badge has been approved, you will receive a request to make a payment.

Can I have a temporary Blue Badge?

We can only issue a Blue Badge for someone who is entitled.

We are unable to provide a Blue Badge on a temporary basis.

How do I reset my online account password?

You will need to go onto the account and click on ‘forgotten password’ – this will send a message to the email address you set up in the account.
