A topping out ceremony has marked a key milestone in the construction of Shenfield’s new library.
The project will deliver a modern library and commercial space. Nine high quality apartments will be for sale above.
Construction work to replace the old library commenced in October 2022. The previous facility was in need of repair, with high ongoing maintenance costs.
The new library will maximise natural light. It will be a flexible space for the community. A new public garden, outdoor learning and activity space also feature.
The development is being delivered by Essex Housing, our in-house property developer. Essex Housing was set up to turn public land and assets into housing and community buildings.
Works are set to be complete this autumn.
