New Director of Wellbeing, Public Health and Communities appointed for Essex

We have today, Wednesday 21 August, announced Sarah Muckle as the new Director of Wellbeing, Public Health and Communities for Essex.

Sarah brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role. She started her career as a nurse and then moved into local government as a public health consultant and then Deputy Director of Public Health at Kirklees Council. Most recently Sarah held the role of Director of Public Health at Bradford Council.

Councillor John Spence, Cabinet Member for Health, Social Care and Integration, said: 

We are delighted to welcome Sarah to our Senior Leadership Team. Sarah is a well accomplished Director of Public Health with the knowledge and experience to help build on the fantastic work we are doing in Essex for the benefit of our residents and communities.

Sarah said: 

I am really happy to be joining Essex County Council as their Director of Wellbeing, Public Health and Communities. I have worked in Public Health for 21 years in various roles including NHS, Local Government, Regionally and Nationally and I am looking forward to working with the council and its partners to continue to improve the health and wellbeing of the people of Essex.
