We have launched a new bursary to support people to join the early years sector.
The £1.4 million Poppins Bursary will help meet the demand for childcare in Essex. It will also support those already working in the sector to progress their careers.
The bursary will offer fully funded courses, delivered by ACL Essex. They will be suitable for people new to the sector, those returning and those looking to progress their careers.
Grants will also be available to help new childminders to set up a business.
We are committed to ensuring all children get the best start in life. By focusing on recruitment, more children will have access to high quality childcare. This will in turn help more parents and carers enter employment.
The bursary is being funded through our Levelling Up fund, as well as ACL’s Adult Education Budget.
