Our on-demand shared public transport service DigiGo has expanded to cover more of Essex.
From Sunday 28 July, a number of supported bus routes have been replaced with DigiGo. This follows our Bus Network Consultation in the summer of 2023.
The services affected are primarily in the Braintree district and include:
- 9/9A
- 345
- SB21
- the supported elements of the 21 (commercial services stay the same)
DigiGo is a shared public transport service which offers on-demand or pre-bookable travel options. Residents can book and pay for their journeys through the TravelEssex app.
The DigiGo Travel Zone is now divided into two distinct areas - 'North' (blue on map) and 'South' (orange on map). Passengers can travel anywhere from A to B within each area. For passengers starting their journey in the overlapping North and South areas (shown on the map in green), they can travel flexibly to both areas.
For travel between the North and South zones, or to other key locations, passengers can book a journey to a TravelEssex Connect Point. Connect Points provide opportunities for onward travel via various modes of transport.
DigiGo’s opening hours have also been extended. It will now operate from 6am to 10pm on weekdays and 7am to 10pm on weekends.
