Levelling Up and Essex businesses

How Essex businesses are supporting Levelling Up

Businesses and the private sector have a key role to play in Levelling Up Essex, as a strong economy is absolutely essential to enabling people to fulfil their aspirations.

This year we launched the new Essex Business Community Pledge, a call to action to all employers of all shapes and sizes to commit to attracting and retaining talented staff.

2023 saw us launch ‘Essex Careers’, a new printed and digital magazine showcasing new job and training opportunties and training.  Read the digital edition at the Essex Opportunities website or contact essex.careers.magazine@essex.gov.uk for a free copy.

Apprenticeship Levy Transfer

If you're a small to medium-sized business and wish to have your apprenticeship training costs covered completely, then visit the Essex Apprenticeship Levy Transfer website. Their service is like a helping hand for businesses. Where bigger companies can share some of their funds, known as apprenticeship levy, with smaller businesses. This means smaller businesses can receive the financial support they need to cover the cost of training their apprentices.

Want to hear from businesses who have shared their levy? Read Timpsons’ Story to find out what they did.
