Countywide support

The Essex Wellbeing Service (EWS) offers a confidential phone call to discuss your situation and work with you to find the best support. They provide advice, information and guidance to unpaid carers living across Essex. Contact them for:

  • information on the support that is available to you as a carer in Essex
  • information on local support groups and services in your area
  • advice that is specific to you and your situation
  • a referral for a carers assessment, where appropriate

They work closely with Action for Family Carers and Carers First and will ensure you receive specialist support from them if needed.

Local specialist support

Action for Family Carers and Carers First offer localised support in different areas of Essex. This includes specialist information, advice and guidance. They can also help you to find:

  • practical solutions to address specific challenges
  • services for your emotional wellbeing
  • ways to connect with other local people in similar situations to you for mutual support

North East and West Essex

Action for Family Carers offers local support for unpaid carers in North East and West Essex. This includes anyone living in:

  • Colchester
  • Epping Forest
  • Harlow
  • Tendring
  • Uttlesford

They work in partnership with Essex Carers Support.

Mid and South Essex

Carers First offers local support for unpaid carers in Mid and South Essex. This includes anyone living in:

  • Basildon
  • Braintree
  • Brentwood
  • Castle Point
  • Chelmsford
  • Maldon
  • Rochford
